Lemon + water + apple cider vinegar + cinnamon
The Dupuis family syrup recipe
Dear reader,
Among the irrational beliefs that inhabit us, we Westerners remain deeply rooted in the myth of the miracle remedy, of "the elixir of life" capable of making our youth, health, beauty, happiness.
We know it goes against logic.
But deep down, we keep the insane hope of a vial containing a remedy made by some druid who has kept secrets buried since time immemorial.
Is it because of the memories of Snow White and the Evil Queen? From the scene of the three witches in McBeth? Or more prosaically from the magic potion in The Visitors or that of Obélix?
In any case, the result is there: millions of euros spent every day on illusory products supposed to contain plants, pseudo-vitamins, improbable mixtures of powders, presented in containers with shapes, colors and fanciful names which n have the effect of enriching those who sell them…
At best, these industrially produced products have a slight placebo effect.
At worst, they harm your health, unbalance your hormones, destroy vital functions.
Because the truth is that the best health secrets are to be found around you, on your plate, your environment, and your everyday life. Take a step back and remember the simple gestures of our predecessors, who fortified themselves with raw, simple, unprocessed or minimally processed products.
Honey loaded with pollen from the wild hive, unpasteurized apple cider vinegar from field apples, the burning root of horseradish or the detoxifying bitterness of dandelion in spring…
This gives me the opportunity to reveal my recipe for the Dupuis family's “miracle” syrup:
Apple cider vinegar syrup, honey, and cinnamon
Very simple to make and composed only of easy to find ingredients, this "tonic" acts at all levels of the body. It relieves constipation, reduces inflammation, supports the kidneys, is good for the heart, prevents and fights urinary tract infections, protects against bacterial, fungal and viral attacks, and protects against colds.
The key to its effectiveness, however, is to use only top-quality ingredients:
* true Ceylon cinnamon (which is yellow, and composed of several thin barks coiled together, which crumble by hand); it must also be biological, so as to contain no trace of heavy metals;
* raw honey, preferably organic. Organic honey means that the bees have not pollinate flowers and plants that have been treated with pesticides, herbicides or other harmful products. "Raw" means that the honey has not been pasteurized, which preserves the active enzymes;
* and of course, the real apple cider vinegar must be unpasteurized and organic. It contains the bacteria that seed the intestinal flora and stimulate the immune system. Organic apples do not contain pesticides, heavy metals or toxins.
The preparation is very simple: vigorously mix 500 ml of vinegar and 250 g of honey, then add two teaspoons of finely ground cinnamon.
Place in an airtight bottle that you will keep in the fridge.
Each morning and evening, take two tablespoons of this fortifying syrup.

Hot water, lemon and apple cider vinegar
But here is another recipe, also very simple, which allows you to alternate with the previous one.
It is a concoction that you can make in a few seconds if you have the ingredients on hand (a concoction is a decoction of several elements; a decoction is a vegetable preparation by dissolving in hot water).
By drinking a glass every morning, just after waking up and before putting anything else in your stomach, you will expel toxins from your liver and stimulate your digestive enzymes for better assimilation of your whole food. the day.
All you need is mineral or filtered water, apple cider vinegar (raw and organic again) and half an organic lemon.
It's that simple.
Again, the quality of the ingredients is essential. Springwater in glass bottles if possible, or reverse osmosis filtered water. Apple cider vinegar must be raw, organic and preferably unfiltered. This means that it is a little cloudy and contains from the mother of vinegar, the bacteria, and yeasts that turn alcohol into vinegar.
Lemon must be organic because it is soaked in pesticides in conventional agriculture.
Fill a glass of hot water, squeeze your half lemon and pour a good teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. Drink in small sips, the effect is almost miraculous.
